Funny t-shirt for a big (yet still very young) brother. Spotted here.
And a few more links:
1. I often criticize ads that seem to have no real purpose other than promoting the agency that created them (for example). Turns out, a common problem is agencies that submit ad campaigns to contests for "ghost brands" - - the product doesn't actually exit, or the campaign is not actually authorized by the company.
2. When wind power turbines are revealed to be the terrible threat they are, a hero will emerge to save us.
3. Careful which contests you enter. Here's a screenwriting contest that was apparently bogus.
4. I finally got around to reading the story conference from 1978 between Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, and Lawrence Kasdan about Raiders of the Lost Ark. Here's one funny exchange:
L — Do you have a name for this person? Here's the link.
G — I do for our leader.
S — I hate this, but go ahead.
G — Indiana Smith. It has to be unique. It's a character. Very Americana square. He was born in Indiana.
L — What does she call him? “Indy?”
G — That's what I was thinking. Or “Jones.” Then people can call him “Jones.”
