When Scooby-Doo met Cthulhu (and Harlan Ellison)

A few clips from the recent Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated episode "Shrieking Madness." The Youtube description says:

With Mystery Inc. broken up, the gang decides to check out life after High School and spend a weekend at DARROW COLLEGE. But things don't go as planned when a creature called CHAR GAR GOTHAKON begins terrorizing the campus. Turns out this beast is a fictional character come to life. A creation of the author H.P. HATECRAFT who is a professor at the school. Although one of the other professors, HARLAN ELLISON, claims Hatecraft is a fraud, the creature is definitely real. And when it attacks and carries off Hatecraft to his doom, the gang realizes it has to come together once again to solve this mystery and save Hatecraft's life.

"Hatecraft" is played by Jeffrey Combs. Via.

2. Long article at Fast Company about Boing Boing. This quote from Cory Doctorow struck home:

"I don't know what a liquidity event for Boing Boing would look like," Doctorow continues, "except for a job. If we were acquired by some content giant, if Yahoo or someone bought us out, it's just a job at Yahoo." (This is purely hypothetical, he says.) "If I wanted a job at Yahoo, I'd go look for a job there; they post listings pretty regularly. I'm glad not to have a job. I don't want a job."

I came to that same realization after an extremely short-lived experiment blogging elsewhere earlier this year. So short I didn't even have time to mention it here.
