The design of the beehive is unconventional, appealing, and respects the natural behavior of the bees. It consists of two parts: entry passage and flower pot outside, and glass vessel containing an array of honeycomb frames, inside. The glass shell filters light to let through the orange wavelength which bees use for sight. The frames are provided with a honeycomb texture for bees to build their wax cells on. Smoke can be released into the hive to calm the bees before it is opened, in keeping with established practice.Part of the Microbial Home. Via.

The second branch of the ILLOIHA fitness club is located on two below-ground floors of a building. Since the gym is spread out over the two floors, we decided to use a studio with an unusual two-story ceiling to unify the space.Via these sites.
To express the original brand concept of "becoming beautiful through movement", we chose the theme "rock-climbing in Omotesando" and developed a design that uses the mismatch between a rugged outdoor sport and Tokyo's fashion district to its advantage. Instead of the usual rough and outdoorsy climbing wall, we came up with the idea of using interior design elements like picture frames, mirrors, deer heads, bird cages and flower vases to create a challenging wall with hard-to-find holds and unusual finger grips. We hope that our uniquely Omotesando-style climbing wall inspires newcomers to try out the sport, and starts a new wave in fitness with style.

Within The SuperGroup’s office, ai3 has created an environment that is nothing short of spectacular. A visit to The SuperGroup is akin to entering the set of a Stanley Kubrick film. The only thing missing is the ubiquitous sound of hydraulic doors opening and closing.Via.
The overall architecture is boldly organic, with curved walls, round walkways and suspended ceilings that float within the space. Angled lines and contrasting colors energize the design. Finishes are primarily white in contrast with orange, blue, and black walls and accents. At the center of the office is an illuminated capsule, housing offices for the founders as well as a large meeting lounge. The multi-use lounge is futuristic, with blue lighting and a bright orange canopy suspended over the bar area.
Throughout the offices, custom design solutions add dimension and context to The SuperGroup brand. A series of small meeting pods line one corridor and are sealed with glass pocket doors. Another corridor is lined with backlit panels that connect the floor and ceiling, creating the illusion of a floating walkway. This futuristic effect is carried through to the conference room where a long white table curves up from the floor and its likeness suspends from the ceiling. A black accent wall and black ceiling contrast with the white finishes, reinforcing the sensation that this office ‘space’ is just that.

In this project I work with how we perceive the world, twisting and changing the perception of the space to create an eerie surreal and otherworldly feeling. The setting is a wooden hut as we know it from the folk talesof Brothers Grimm. The viewer is intruding this reality shifting dark place. It is a fake wooden hut, a piece of theater-like scenery made from drawn wood planks, the “Flintstones” aesthetic and Technicolor quality of the ceramics underlines the hyper real dreamlike feeling.
In the hut there is a fireplace, the burning logs look like hearts, but the hearts look like real hearts and the branches sticking out of them resembles blood filled arteries and veins. The hut is in a forest or maybe the hut is the forest; the wooden planks are sprouting and coming to life, or maybe they were alive and someone is cutting them down? This uncanny and dark fairytale is fragmented, like in a crime story the clues are scattered around, the viewer is the detective trying to make sense of it all.
