The Scribblenauts winner is...

First, a round up of the Scribblenauts art that was submitted.

2D Pixel Maxwell by Faith, who has art on sale at Etsy.

Plush Maxwell by Rosemary Travale, who has art on sale at Etsy.

Scribblenauts illustration by Russell Conway.

Scribblenauts illustration by Eric Wiryanata, who has art on sale all over the place.

Scribblenauts illustration by Shane "Das Chupa" Parker.

Scribblenauts illustration by Gerald de Dios.

This time, I picked the winner randomly. Fate smiled upon Shane, and I've already emailed him his store credit. Thanks to everyone for participating and submitting such high quality art.

I'll be announcing the next Super Punch art contest in a few hours. It'll star the biggest prize I've given away yet. Here's two more hints.

2D Pixel Maxwell from Scribblenauts

Today's the last day to submit to me a Scribblenauts-themed work of art to be eligible to win a Threadless store credit. This 2D Pixel Maxwell by the Girl Gamer is made of perler fused beads. You can find more of the 2D video game creations on sale at Etsy, and The Girl Gamer website features various charming works of art including a knitted Super Grover, and Lego Luigi.

Plush Maxwell from Scribblenauts

Rosemary Travale's contribution to the Scribblenauts Art Jam is a homemade plush Maxwell. You can see more photos of Maxwell here, see her homemade button-eyed Coraline doll here, and check out her webstore here. She's also been known to draw a great commission from time to time.

You can see the rest of the Scribblenauts Art Jam entries here, and you have until 9/15 to submit an entry of your own.

And as I've hinted already, I'll announce the next art contest, which will have a large prize, next week. Here's another hint.

August Art Theme: Scribblenauts

The Art Theme for August is Scribblenauts, which comes out next month. Here's the official description of the game:

Using the Nintendo DS™ touch-screen, help Maxwell reach the starite by solving a series of puzzles. Catch the starite by writing down any object you can think of and watch it come to life. Try another word and see a completely different scenario unfold. With your stylus and imagination, the possibilities are endless!

As you can see in this trailer, you're really only limited by your imagination (and licensing restrictions):

So, if you'd like to participate, submit a work of art (illustration, custom toy, etc) featuring Maxwell.

This time, instead of choosing a "winner," I'll instead send a randomly chosen participant a $25 Threadless store credit. I must receive your entry by 8:00 pm Pacific Standard Time on September 15, 2009.

P.S. The red thing is a rooster hat.
