Planet 51's Xenomorph Dog

One of the trailers I sat through before the horrendous Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs was for Planet 51. The trailer thoroughly convinced me that I absolutely do not want to see Planet 51. However, it did briefly feature a dog that looked suspiciously like an Alien:
