Obi-Wan Kenobi as Sith (link roundup)

It's been abandoned, but Star Wars Battlefront III was supposedly going to feature Ob-Wan Kenobi as Sith, corrupted by Palpatine. An interesting idea. Maybe a fall to the Dark Side and return to the Force would explain how the total badass that singlehandedly took on Grievous and his guards ended up the total loser of New Hope. More images here.

And a few more links:

1. A blog devoted to teaching artists how to get paid.

2. Profile of Tim Cook, the heir apparent to Steve Jobs. Here's one cinematic moment:
One day back then, he convened a meeting with his team, and the discussion turned to a particular problem in Asia.

"This is really bad," Cook told the group. "Someone should be in China driving this." Thirty minutes into that meeting Cook looked at Sabih Khan, a key operations executive, and abruptly asked, without a trace of emotion, "Why are you still here?"

Khan, who remains one of Cook's top lieutenants to this day, immediately stood up, drove to San Francisco International Airport, and, without a change of clothes, booked a flight to China with no return date, according to people familiar with the episode. The story is vintage Cook: demanding and unemotional.
Read the whole thing. The details about his personal life are very interesting.

3. Man convicted of hit and run. He claimed to have not realized he hit a person. But the prosecution presented evidence that he ran web searches on topics like "auto glass reporting requirements to law enforcement."

4. David Brooks criticizes Malcolm Gladwell's Outliers. This sums up my outlook:
Most successful people begin with two beliefs: the future can be better than the present, and I have the power to make it so. They were often showered by good fortune, but relied at crucial moments upon achievements of individual will.
