Uncle Scrooge's Money Bin (link roundup)

Uncle Scrooge's Money Bin made by Matt.

And a few more links:

1. Joan Holloway paper doll.

2. Freudian slip perhaps? The L.A. Parks Department offers an after-school day care program that provides a "neutering fun and safe environment." (PDF) Via.

3. Two by Noah Whyler: A demon goes trick or treating, and She-Thor with very big mjolnir.

Dashboard Joan Holloway (link roundup)

Dashboard Joan Holloway by mister frothee, who has also created Mad Men and Deadwood bobbleheads.

And a few more links:

1. Jeff Probst makes the villain of the latest season of Survivor sound fascinating.

2. Looks like the Twitter account is history, but for awhile it listed some pretty funny tag lines, including:
Pennzoil. America's Finest Motor Zoil.
You can find a few more here.

3. Nissan wants to give its silent electric cars a special sound:
The company consulted Japanese composers of film scores. What Tabata and his six-member team came up with is a high- pitched sound reminiscent of the flying cars in “Blade Runner,” the 1982 film directed by Ridley Scott portraying his dystopian vision of 2019.
I've long thought that it was a matter of time before we could download engine sounds for our cars the way we can download ringtones for our phones.

Papercraft punk bank (link roundup)

This punk paper toy also serves as a piggy bank. Download it here. Via.

And a few more links:

1. At Mad Men Yourself (which I'm guessing is based on Dyna Moe's art), you can create a stylized version of yourself. But the program kept locking up when I tried to download the completed version.

2. I hadn't realized that the Oakland A's have been a below .500 team for years.

3. The Chinese deal with bad traffic a little differently. For example, one man hung out by an intersection and whenever he saw people running red lights, he hurled bricks at them. In another instance, a man fed up with a traffic jam caused by a man threatening to leap off the bridge, pushed the jumper off the bridge.

Captain Cutler (link roundup)

Captain Cutler by Warwick Johnson Cadwell for the Villains of Scooby-Doo art contest. He also recently posted a great Johann Krauss sketch.

And a few more links:

1. Banana Republic and Mad Men have teamed up for an online casting call - - post your photo here and you might win a walk-on role on Mad Men, via Ryan Thomas who already has a favorite.

2. Twitter feed promoting Alice in Wonderland.

3. Here's one theory on how someone videotaped Erin Andrews in her hotel room. Sounds disturbingly easy.

4. Guy in a tiger suit throws a karate kick.

Mad Men Season 3 Teaser (link roundup)

I've mentioned Dyna Moe's Mad Men desktop wallpapers and paper toys many times before. She created that work as fan art, but she's been hired to create art for AMC and has posted a Mad Men season 3 teaser here as a desktop wallpaper. Her webstore is at Zazzle. (Or . . . it's the best April Fool's Joke I've seen today.)

And a few more links:

1. The Casanova comic by Matt Fraction, Gabriel Ba, and Fabio Moon continues tomorrow. Online for free. Unless this is an April Fool's Joke that's not remotely funny.

2. A guide to libel for bloggers. Via.

3. The man who writes Google's April Fool's jokes.

4. Here's some nostalgia antidote - - the original Transformers cassette toys (especially the humanoid robots) were horrendous.

*At Toycutter: Mad Men minifig concept art.

*Buy "Nightwork: A History of Hacks and Pranks at MIT" at Amazon.

3. Not exactly timely, but the X-Files mythos explained.

4. How to get a job in the comic book industry.

3. Media Molecule rounds up videos of some of its favorite Little Big Planet levels.
